The Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) analysed sickness absence and employee health among 918 organisations representing 6.5 million employees, with 76% of respondents reporting they had taken time off due to stress in the past year.

A study by researchers at London's South Bank University found that around half of women believe that taking maternity leave has harmed their professional lives. 

2.58 million people are off work due to chronic illness in the UK, a figure that has risen by 449,000 since the start of the pandemic in January 2020.

Returning to work can be a stressful and unsettling time after a period of absence. whether that be due to Maternity/ Paternity leave, Long-term illness or stress leave. Open communication and emotional support is vital to ensure a successful transition back into the workplace.

Full Beam offers a program consisting of Eight individual fifty-minute counselling sessions with the returning employee (two before return and six after) to give them a confidential space to explore their feelings and goals surrounding their return and a two-hour session with their manager to ensure the manager is prepared and empowered to support any returning employees.
